100% Dutch green energy
Baars Car Dealership is officially certified as a purchaser of 100% Dutch green energy. With 480 solar panels on our roof, we generate approximately 128,900 kWh annually. In addition, we purchase exclusively 100% Dutch wind energy via Eneco.
Together, this has already resulted in a saving of approximately 61,737 kg of CO2. This is equivalent to the annual CO2 absorption of 3,220 trees, or roughly 42 football pitches of forest. In 2022, we received the Commercial Building Energy Label with a score of A+++++.
Sustainability
Sustainability plays a major role at Autohandel Baars. We are purposefully investing in making our operations more sustainable, including through green energy and generation via solar panels. We are also continuously looking at practical improvements in and around the business to further reduce our impact, without compromising quality and continuity.
Car dealership Baars is switching to fully electrically powered forklift trucks
To continue our trajectory of sustainable investment and corporate social responsibility, we have purchased 3 fully electric forklift trucks to replace our diesel forklift truck. We have chosen a small 3.5-tonne version and two larger ones of 4.5 and 5 tonnes. This will allow us to further improve our services by loading vehicles onto lorries or trailers.
Within Autohandel Baars, several sustainable initiatives have been taken in recent years. During the renovation of the office in 2018/2019, a conscious choice was made for a number of energy-efficient and eco-friendly solutions, including:
- Roof insulation
- 480 solar panels
- 4 inverters
- Gas disconnection
- Double glazing
- Wall and floor insulation
- LED lighting instead of fluorescent lighting
- Vehicle fleet complies with recent Euro standards
- Dutch wind energy from Eneco
